Abstract

An Ethyl Chloride Plant with a capacity of 32,000 tonnes/year will be established in Cikampek, West Java. The factory will operate 24 hours a day during 330 days a year. The Ethyl Chloride Factory uses raw materials in the form of Ethanol originating from PT. Anugrah Putra Kencana and Hydrogen Chloride from PT. Linde Indonesia which is in West Java. Ethyl Chloride is widely used as plastic industrial materials, solvents, and as an anesthetic. In the manufacture of ethyl cellulose, Ethyl Chloride as a raw material will be reacted with cellulose alkali. Furthermore, ethyl cellulose will be used as an ethylation agent in the paint and industrial industries varnishes in the manufacture of ethyl benzene for the polymer industry as well as in the synthesis of substances colors and fine chemicals. Ethyl Chloride can be produced in several ways processes, such as the Ethanol process with Hydrogen Chloride, the Hydrochlorination Process Ethylene, and Ethane Chlorination Process.
