Abstract
The recycling mechanism is considered the best technology for processing plastic waste into more useful raw materials. Plastic waste recycling involves crushing, washing and sorting. The collected, sorted and cleaned plastic is then fed into the crusher to be ground into small pieces called flakes. The plastic flake is then fed to the extruder via a hopper. The melted plastic in the form of a paste comes out as a hot strand and passes through the water to continue the product cooling process. The plastic pellet products are then put into sacks to continue the product storage and marketing process. In the process of washing and soaking plastic material (flakes) from the crusher at PT Natura Plastindo, they still use a conventional mixer. The use of a conventional mixer has an effect on the resulting product, including hot water from the steam boiler vapor which easily evaporates in the air, there are several washing ingredients that have not completely dissolved. So a Horizontal Mixing Tank design was made with a paddle ribbon stirrer type and equipped with a jacket to provide a constant heating temperature effect on the Mixer. It is hoped that the design of this mixer can be used as a consideration for PT Natura Plastindo so that the plastic material washing and soaking process can run more efficiently and optimally.
