Abstract
Risk is unavoidable. Therefore, risk management is carried out to reduce the risks that occur. The problems that occurred at PT. PJB UBJ O&M Tanjung Awar-Awar is electricity production that is experiencing disruptions. Coal pulverizer is one of the machines which is often damaged which causes the electricity production process to be disrupted. In operation, each unit has 6 coal pulver�izer machines as coal crushing machines before entering the boiler. The Failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) method is a risk management tool that is assessed based on the RPN (risk priority number) obtained from the severity, occurrence, and detection results. The purpose of this research is to reduce the risk of failure of the coal pulverizer which causes the electricity production process to be disrupted. Based on the failure mode effect analysis table, 10 coal pulverizer components have the greatest damage which can hinder electricity production with an RPN value of 384 which is the highest value of the pulverizer component that has failed. The results of this study are in the form of a Failure Defense Task (FDT) which is a recommendation to reduce the risk of coal pulverizer machines in the future.
