Abstract
Rivers are water resources that have different characteristics and properties from other resources, where humans still need water to survive. The rapid population growth, especially in urban areas, has a serious impact on the decline in the carrying capacity of the environment. Eco-enzyme produced from simple fermentation of fresh vegetable or fruit waste, brown sugar, and water in a ratio of 1: 3 : 10 is useful in reducing pollution levels. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Eco-enzyme on the removal of TSS, TDS, and Surfactant levels in river. In this study using a variety of anaerobic processes and coagulation - flocculation with Eco-enzyme concentrations of 75%, 50%, 25% and 7.5%, 5.0%, 2.5%. Anaerobic process takes 5, 10, 15 days residence time. While the process of Coagulation – Flocculation with 150 rpm at fast stirring for 1 minute, 60 rpm slow stirring for 15 minutes. In this study, fruit Eco-enzymes were more effective. Anaerobic process with 5.0% concentration was able to reduce the most optimum pollutant parameters, namely 8.70% for TSS, 62.42% for TDS, and 7.5% concentration of 98.87. % at 15 days residence time. While the Coagulation – Flocculation process with a concentration of 2.5% was able to remove TSS of 7.33%, TDS of 42.07%, and a concentration of 50% was able to remove 96.86% of surfactants.
