Abstract
This study describes the relationship between the United States and Cuba which was influenced by the Cuban Thaw program under President Barack Obama's administration in 2014-2016. Relations between the United States and Cuba had been good, until the Cuban revolution led by Fidel Castro caused tensions in relations between the two countries. In addition to ideological differences, the nationalization of several US companies carried out by the Fidel Castro government resulted in increasingly distant relations between the two countries. Various policies and prohibitions were imposed by the United States government in limiting relations with Cuba. Until the administration of President Barack Obama announced an initiative to improve relations with Cuba, which was responded positively under the leadership of Raul Castro. With this, this study attempts to analyze diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba through Cuban Thaw during the administration of President Barack Obama, with a research range from 2014 to 2016, this research finds that the United States and Cuba have interdependence between each other. Each country has interests that will be easily achieved if relations between them improve. Keywords: Cuban Thaw, Normalization, United States of America, Cuba.
