Abstract
Indonesia's growing population and increasing awareness of nutritional and health needs have increased the demand for vegetables, including red lettuce. This study aimed to plant red lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. Red rapid) in two vertical garden planting techniques. The study was carried out on an open wall on the 2nd floor in Blitar, East Java from April 2021 to June 2021. The study was arranged in a factorial manner with a Split Plot Design of 2 factors, factor I as the main factor was the planting technique, which consisted of two levels, namely planting techniques using geotextile (G) and planting techniques using pots (P). Factor II with media composition consisting of soil, husk charcoal, and cocopeat with a maximum weight of 300 grams and 5 replications at each level: Vertical Garden potting technique. PT0: Soil without the addition of husk charcoal and cocopeat; PTS1: Soil with Husk Charcoal 1:1 ratio; PTS2: Soil with Husk Charcoal ratio 2:1; PTC1: Soil with Cocopeat ratio 1:1; PTC2: Soil with Cocopeat ratio of 2:1. Vertical Garden geotextile engineering. GT0: Soil without the addition of husk charcoal and cocopeat; GTS1: Soil with Husk Charcoal ratio 1:1; GTS2: Soil with Husk Charcoal ratio 2: 1; GTC1: Soil with Cocopeat ratio 1:1; GTC2: Soil with Cocopeat ratio of 2:1. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the use of various planting media and vertical garden planting techniques had a significant effect on the growth of red lettuce (Lactuca sativa var.
