Abstract
Red chili is an excellent commodity in Indonesia. One of the obstacles in the production of red chili is that it withered by Fusarium sp. Chemical control is not recommended because it is bad for health. Alternative control is to use coconut shell liquid smoke which is also abundantly available raw materials. Effect of coconut shell liquid smoke concentration of 0%; 2%; 4%; 6%; 8%; and 10% against Fusarium sp. tested in vitro and in vivo. In vitro testing was carried out by the double culture method and filtrate. The parameters observed were the percentage of inhibition and morphology of hyphae. In vivo testing was carried out at a dose of 100 ml / polybag and carried out with 2 different application times, namely before planting and at the age of 35 HST. The parameters observed included plant height, incubation period, stem diameter, wet root weight, and the number of Fusarium sp. in soil. The results showed that, in vitro using the fitrat culture method, 8% concentration of coconut shell liquid smoke effectively inhibited Fusarium sp. up to 89.25%. The higher the concentration used the higher the percentage of inhibition and reached 100% at a concentration of 10%., and with the regression equation = 1014.4x + 3.89 and correlation 0,99. In vivo with a concentration of 2% effectively suppressed the growth of fungus spores up to 99.14%. Concentrations of more than 5% are not recommended and a better application time is before planting. Keywords: Concentration, Liquid Smoke, Fusarium sp., Red Chili, Application Time
