Abstract
ADAM WILLYAM JOSE, QUALITATIVE STUDY OF SOCIETY PERCEPTION ABOUT THE TERM PELAKOR THAT CONTAINS GENDER DISCRIMINATION Gender inequality issue is not a novelty. The inequality occurs in men and especially women. Inequality or discrimination on female in most cases happen to the community who adhere to patriarchy. A system that considers men have power and women are on the weak side and always underneath the man. The forms of discrimination are various, sometimes clearly visible and sometimes disguised. For an example of disguised discrimination to women is the term Pelakor. The term Pelakor is a new term that emanates from social media. The term Pelakor was made by netizen when there were a case of infidelity, which aimed at a woman accused of seizing a man whose already being another woman’s husband. This research uses a qualitative method which aims to determine the society perception of the term Pelakor that contains gender discrimination. With the theory of feminism which discusses the struggle to get freedom and equality between men and women in everything. Keywords: Pelakor, Discrimination, Gender
