Abstract
TiO2-SiO2 photocatalyst have succeeded in reducing BOD and COD levels in textile industry liquid waste by photodegradation process. Photodegradation is used to reduce levels of BOD and COD in textile industry liquid waste by utilizing ultraviolet light from the sun. To study the effect of composites used TiO2- SiO2 with 1-5 gram weight and duration of compost and waste for 30-90 minutes. Textile industry wastewater that has been photodegradated with TiO2- SiO2 composites will be tested for BOD and COD. From the analysis conducted, the results show that, with the addition of TiO2-SiO2 composites, the BOD reduction results reached 86.42% and the COD reduction reached 90.88%.
