Abstract
In theory, when a person is able to complete his education well, then later when he enters the scope of competition in the world of work, he has fulfilled one main point that is a requirement in the selection process, namely education. The tight competition in the world of work makes many individuals choose to continue their education to the university level. It's not enough to stop there, even when graduating from college, someone will face new challenges, namely intense competition in the world of work, as well as various other problems. As one of the government's efforts to solve various problems, the Merdeka Kampu Discourse emerged which was delivered through a podcast video entitled "Nadiem Makarim – Kuliah Gak Penting" on Deddy Corbuzier's Youtube. This study aims to find out how the acceptance of students in Surabaya, on the Merdeka Campus Discourse, is conveyed in the podcast video. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, using Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding reception analysis to see the position of the informant through in three audience positions, Dominant Hegemonic, Negotiated Position, Oppositional Position. The results obtained from this study, there are two informants who are in the Dominant Hegemonic position who tend to support the concept in that video. Three informants were in the Negotiation position, or in other words agreed to the concept presented, but had their own views regarding the actual situation. Also, one informant who tends to be against or is in an Oppositional position to the concept conveyed in the video podcast.
