Abstract
This study discusses a series of posters by Jennifer Baer that spread (viral) on the internet via her personal Twitter social media in the early half of 2020 (approximately March-June). Using a vintage style, the three posters raised the topic of “Stay The F* Home” released by a fictional tourism bureau called, The Coronavirus Tourism Bureau, by parodying the style of tourism posters from the early 20th century. Parody is one of the phenomena in intertextuality, where text, in this case posters by Baer, cannot stand alone unless they relies on another text outside of themselves which are used as references. Through the intertextuality of the poster series by Baer, she invites observers to vacation in their respective homes during the pandemic by referring not only to posters that already exist, but also to the culture of the community where they come from.
