Abstract

The use of video games as a learning method combined with entertainment can make the learning experience more interactive and enjoyable, while also increasing the insights of students, especially in the learning of Indonesian history. Through gaming media, students can interact with the environment within the game as if they are indirectly in that world, not just reading or listening to a story. This final project is prepared for the development of an education-based game on the history of the Don Bosco weapon depot attack. The research begins by designing a general concept about the game to be created. Then, this design is further developed into more detailed and technically arranged designs. Based on the designed concepts, the development of the game program will be created using the Unity game engine. The results of this research are tested using questionnaires given to students at local schools to measure the effectiveness of gaming media as a learning method. The questionnaire, following the basis of the GUESS-18 method and presented in a 5-point Likert scale, shows a result of 3.65, which is considered good, indicating that respondents are interested.
