Abstract
Sesame (Sesamum indicum L) is cultivated as a source vegetable oil, known as sesame oil, which is obtained from the extract of its seeds. Based on data from the central statistics agency, the need for sesame oil in Indonesia experiences continuous increase every year. Based on previous research It is necessary to use other methods besides using the pressing method to increase The oil obtained is by using a stirred tank. So that It is hoped that the yield obtained will be more than using it pressing method. Therefore, researchers tried to conduct research with the title “Optimization of Sesame Seed Oil Extraction Using N-Hexane Solvent in Tanks Stirring.” This research aims to determine the optimization of the deep extraction process stirred tank using CAMP number. The method used is extraction using a stirred tank using N-hexane solvent. The ratio of the amount of sesame seeds and N hexane solvent in each sample was 1:5. Where the amount of sesame seeds is 80 grams and 400 ml N-hexane solvent. for the running variable in the form of speed stirring (rpm) of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500. And stirring time (minutes) of 20, 40, 60, 80, 100. The extraction results are then filtered to separate the sesame seed dregs with the filtrate. Then the filtrate undergoes a distillation process to split Dissolve it with pure sesame oil to calculate the results and calculate CAMP number optimization. Then analyze the pure sesame oil from the acquisition CAMP number optimization. The optimum CAMP number ranges from 10.06 x 10^6 to 11.67 x 10^6 with a yield of 49.5%
