Abstract
Indonesia is a very large country and has a lot of ethnicity and culture. There are 1,340 ethnic groups in Indonesia and one of them the other is the Madurese. The Madurese have a variety of cultures, One of the most famous cultures in Madura is the Karapan culture Cows that have existed hundreds of years ago and are still sustainable today. Interest in karapan sapi from year to year continues to grow. On in 2005 the number of visitors only reached 968 people, in 2006 experienced increase in visitors by 31% to 1,275 people, up to residency matches in 2019 the number of visitors reached 20,000 people. This indicates that Karapan Sapi Culture is in great demand by the public. For the holding of Karapan Sapi at the residency level, there are only 2 a facility that can host residency-level matches, though Both facilities are considered less feasible due to several factors such as capacity, national stadium standards, to the stadium safety factor. Then new facilities are needed, such as the Karapan Sapi Stadium in Sumenep. As a stadium that can support and develop culture Karapan Sapi in Madura is expected to be an adequate facility for activities Karapan Sapi culture and maintain the national standard of the stadium and its visitor safety. As a facility to support and develop Culture Madura, it is hoped that this design can describe the culture Madura itself. Therefore, the theme of Traditional Culture Of Sumenep was chosen which is expected to be able to provide a clear picture of Madurese culture and characteristic of Madura architecture, especially architecture in Sumenep district.
