Abstract
ABSTRACT Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a tropical plant that is in great demand by the public and has nutrients and vitamins that are good for the body. This study aims to determine the effect of applying liquid organic fertilizer concentrations and types of mulch on the growth and yield of purple eggplant plants. Eggplant plants are planted on land in Sokosari Village, Soko District, Tuban Regency, East Java in March – July 2023. The study was prepared using a Divided Plot Design (RPT) which is composed of the main plot of liquid organic fertilizer concentration consisting of 4 levels, namely 4 ml / l (P₁), 6 ml / l (P₂), 8 ml / l (P₃) and 10 ml / l (P₄). Mulch type plots consist of 3 levels, namely, black silver plastic mulch (M₁), rice straw mulch (M₂) and transparent plastic mulch (M₃). The results showed that the combination treatment between the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer 6 ml/l and black silver plastic mulch (P₂M₁) showed a marked effect on plant height aged 84 HST, total fruit harvest per plant, fruit diameter and fruit weight per plot.
