Abstract
PT. Energi Agro Nusantara represents a product diversification initiative of PTPN X Nusantara, with the aim of augmenting business revenue and making a constructive contribution to Indonesia's renewable alternative energy endeavors. The establishment of this facility serves the purpose of reducing reliance on fossil fuels by harnessing alternative energy sources. The establishment of the factory is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) of Japan. It is situated in Gempolkerep, Mojokerto, East Java, encompassing both the Water Treatment Process and production facilities, along with a separate wastewater treatment location in close proximity to the Gempolkrep sugar factory. Bioethanol production at PT. ENERO commences with molasses as the raw material, utilizing the Saccharomyces cerevisiae bacterium for fermenting molasses into bioethanol. The bioethanol is subsequently subjected to an evaporation process to attain a 25% concentration. To enhance its purity, the bioethanol undergoes distillation to reach a 95% concentration. Given PT ENERO's bioethanol product specification of 99.5%, a further dehydration process employing active alumina is conducted to achieve a 99.5% bioethanol product concentration
