Abstract
In general, whistleblowers in disclosing illegal things have fear itself which causes delays in the complaint process narcotics crime. This causes whistleblowers to need legal protection provided by the state as an effort to protect and enforce the law. This study aims to determine and analyze how reporters of narcotics crimes can be categorized as a whistleblower entitled to legal protection based on legal provisions in force in Indonesia as well as to know and analyzing forms of legal protection for criminal whistleblowers narcotics based on the legal regulations in force in Indonesia. Types of research used in this study is a normative juridical approach legislation (statute approach) and conceptual approach (conceptual approaches). The method of data analysis in this study is normative analysis qualitative to primary data and secondary data. The results of this study are legal protection for whistleblowers refers to RI Law no. 31 years 2014 relating to Amendments to Law no. 13 of 2006 related with Witness and Victim Protection, in this case legal protection is given by LPSK as an institution authorized to carry out protection against whistleblowers, the form of legal protection is in the form of physical and psychological protection against whistleblowers, as well as protection in the form of special handling and legal protection of whistleblowers.
