Abstract
Indonesia is a country that has a fertile lowland rice ecosystem with organic matter and rich in biodiversity. In 2013 the problem of food security, especially rice, became a big problem for the Indonesian people. One of the causes of this shift is due to the many types of pests and diseases that attack rice plantations, including planthopper pests. Geospatial technique is an appropriate and fast solution for monitoring a brown planthopper pest that is able to describe the distribution pattern of the pest on shaded land and land without shade with the distribution pattern of brown planthopper pests on shaded land having a clustered pattern at weeks 2, 5 and 8. while on land without shade it was found in weeks 1, 2 and 7. Environmental factors such as temperature and humidity can affect the brown planthopper population level according to the range and sill values at a certain distance.
