Abstract
Land evaluation is the process of assessing the appearance of land for specific purposes, including the implementation and interpretation of surveys and studies of landforms, soils, vegetation, climate, and other land aspects in order to identify and make comparisons of various land uses that may be developed. Evaluation of land suitability is expected to obtain data on land characteristics that show the nature of the land so that the level of land suitability can be determined and then efforts are made to improve in accordance with land characteristics which will ultimately optimize crop production. The clove commodity plays an important role in the development of plantations in particular and national development in general because of its real contribution in providing raw material needs, especially for the clove cigarette industry, increasing farmers' income, increasing foreign exchange, providing employment opportunities at the on-farm level, the pharmaceutical industry and trade as well as the informal sector. oves in Wonosalam District are a commodity that really supports the community's economy but has experienced a decline. This land suitability evaluation aims to assess existing land so that it can be used and utilized optimally by farmers. As well as to know the characteristics of clove plants. This research was conducted from May to July 2023 including sampling, laboratory analysis, data processing, and reporting. The results showed that the land suitability class in Wonosalam District, Jombang Regency was included in the S3 class (marginal fit) for each SPL with the same limiting factor.
