Abstract
AAPI hate is a social phenomenon in the form of increased public hatred for the AAPI community. AAPI hate is accompanied by acts of verbal and physical violence carried out based of public hatred. This act of hatred causes the AAPI community to live in fear and poses a serious threat in terms of security. Then a social movement Stop AAPI Hate was born in the United States. This movement has a focus on promoting the liberation for the AAPI community from discrimination. Seeing the lack of government action in the Donald Trump era, the Stop AAPI Hate movement used several efforts that could have an impact on the government to immediately take significant action. The government is required to immediately make a response in the form of a new policy that can benefit the AAPI community due to increasing xenophobia in the era of the COVID 19 pandemic. This research uses social movement theory from a book written by Rajendra Singh and new social movement theory from a book written by Oman Sukmana . Apart from that, another theory is used, namely Social Equity which is taken from journal article sources by Maman Chatamallah. To find a solution to the issue of AAPI hate, the Stop AAPI Hate movement has had an impact on the government to create new policies that can deal with the issue of AAPI hate in the United States.
