Abstract
During the COVID-19 pandemic, health diplomacy has become an important component in maintaining the stability of the world health system and is a way to improve people's lives. Of course it's not easy, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, mobility was very limited in order to suppress the spread of the virus. Jamu as a typical Indonesian herbal drink is a unique health diplomacy tool where the concept of using natural, local herbs makes jamu potentially brought to an international scale. Jamu is expected to be able to compete until it can be integrated into the formal health system. Indonesia had carried out herbal medicine diplomacy even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of them are herbal medicine diplomacy conducted by Indonesia and China which has long been known as Traditional Chinese Medicine. Even in its journey, Indonesia received investment in the development of herbal medicines. Indonesia also conducts diplomacy in the ASEAN region which has geographical proximity so that the history of the use of herbal medicines is not much different. The ASEAN region has specific standards in guaranteeing the quality of herbal medicines which are Indonesia's stepping stones in exploring the potential of herbal medicine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia reached a new achievement where the herbal medicine diplomacy with Pakistan was initiated. Even though they are not close geographically, Indonesian herbal medicine has similarities with Pakistani herbal medicine so that the potential for collaboration between the two countries can be explored.
