Abstract
Banyuwangi Regency is known for the beauty of natural attractions such as mountains and beaches which make Banyuwangi Regency one of the favorite choices for tourist destinations in East Java. Banyuwangi is famous for its several beaches which have very clear water and have a beautiful view, such as Gumuk Kancil Beach, which is located in Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi. Banyuwangi has good potential in the tourism sector and has a program for cultural development in Banyuwangi. From this, the design of a resort hotel applies symbolic elements from Banyuwangi culture, such as Gajah Oling batik, Osing traditional houses, Gandrung dance and so on to produce an architectural design that combines symbolic elements that have an atmosphere that reflects Banyuwangi's local identity. with a symbolic architectural approach and using the analogy method of the Gajah Oling batik motif as an element in the building design. The design of this Resort Hotel aims to combine the natural beauty of Gumuk Kancil beach and create a unique hotel resort, not only providing comfort for guests, but also respecting and preserving the cultural heritage of the Banyuwangi area. By combining symbolic elements from Banyuwangi culture in the interior and exterior design of the building, it is hoped that this resort hotel can become an attraction for local and foreign tourists. In addition, this resort also provides a variety of recreational and entertainment facilities, such as surfing, banana boats/ speed boats, spas with traditional treatments, restaurants with typical Banyuwangi menus, Gandrung dance performances in the beach area and many other interesting supporting facilities. With the application of symbolic architecture from Banyuwangi culture and integration with the surrounding environment, it is hoped that this resort hotel can provide an unforgettable holiday experience for guests, as well as support efforts to preserve and develop local culture. Through this design, it is hoped that a resort hotel will be created that will contribute positively to the tourism and economic development of the Banyuwangi area.
