Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out how to carry out sales and purchase agreements online for cosmetic products that have exaggerated claims in the product description. In addition, it is also to find out what efforts can be made for the buyer who is disadvantaged as imposing sanctions for excessive claims on cosmetic products x. The type of research used is normative juridical using a concept approach and a statutory approach, which uses secondary data including primary legal materials (laws and regulations), secondary legal materials (books, journals and other research), and tertiary legal materials (internet sites or KBBI). The method of data analysis in this study is descriptive-analytical with deductive thinking involving legal interpretation. So, the result of this research is that the online sale and purchase agreement on cosmetic product x which makes excessive claims, actually includes an act of default. Where the seller as a business actor does not provide true and honest information between the actual situation and what they include, so that this can be dangerous for the buyer who uses it. In addition, the occurrence of excessive claims during online sale and purchase agreements for cosmetic products x is certainly not in accordance with the legal basis contained in the Consumer Protection Act and Agreement Law. So that there are legal remedies that can be taken starting from efforts outside the court to efforts in court, but indeed not a few problems have been successfully resolved in a peaceful way or through non-litigation efforts. Keywords: Sale and purchase agreement, Cosmetics, exaggerated claims.
