Abstract
This study examines audience acceptance of depiction on the phenomenon of adolescent association shown in the film "Dua Garis Biru". The film "Dua Garis Biru" was chosen as the subject in this study because this film is one of controversies film among the audience. This research uses qualitative research by using the reception analysis method of Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding model. The results showed that variety of audience reception of the message content of the film "Dua Garis Biru" based on different backgrounds. Each informant gave their experience and knowledge and than the result show that each two informants were found in a hegemony-dominant position, and three other informants were in a negotiating position.
