Abstract
Lumajang Regency is one of the regions in Indonesia that has a high level of vulnerability to various kinds of disasters. Based on the Indonesian Disaster Information Data (DIBI) it was recorded that several disaster events that often occurred in Lumajang Regency in the 2010-2021 period with the highest intensity were disasters. Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro District, is one of the areas in Lumajang Regency which is quite vulnerable to disaster risk. Efforts to reduce disaster risk to make Sumberwuluh village a community that is resilient to disasters, it is necessary to implement clear, focused and comprehensive disaster management and mitigation for each disaster based on disaster risk assessment in Lumajang Regency. Evacuation planning requires supporting infrastructure, such as escape buildings. The Disaster Escape Center was created to support the activities of local residents, especially the Sumberwuluh village community, to form a community that is responsive to disasters, understands disaster mitigation education and community-based trauma recovery as well as a recovery process that is capable of producing productive food products and increasing post-disaster economic resilience. This is in line with the principles of Resilience Architecture which does not only focus on the speed and accuracy of post-disaster construction but also on the sustainability aspect to create a balance between economic, social and community regenerative growth through architectural design.
