Abstract
Purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) has many ingredients that are good for the body so it is good for consumption as food or herbal medicine, but it also contains high oxalic acid, if consumed in large quantities it can cause kidney stones. The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriate growing media and dosage of guano fertilizer to growth, yield and reduce oxalic acid in purslane plants. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture UPN "Veteran" East Java. The first factor is the type of growing media (M) which consists of 3 levels, namely M1: soil : husk charcoal (1:1), M2: soil : husk charcoal : chicken manure (1:1:1), M3: soil : charcoal husk : cow manure (1:1:1) and dose of guano fertilizer (D) as the second factor consisting of 4 levels, namely D0: without guano fertilizer (control), D1: dose of guano fertilizer 15 g/polybag, D2: dose guano fertilizer 20 g/poly bag, D3: dose of guano fertilizer 25 g/poly bag. The results showed that the combination of growing media soil : husk charcoal: cow manure (1:1:1) and a dose of 15 g/polybag guano fertilizer had a significant effect on the number of leaves, number of branches, plant crown diameter and fresh weight of purslane plants. The combination of soil growing media soil : husk charcoal: chicken manure (1:1:1) and a dose of 25 g/polybag guano fertilizer gave the best results for reducing oxalic acid content in purslane plants.
