Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of good corporate governance on the financial performance of banking companies. The population in this study are banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2021 period. This research uses quantitative methods. The total population of registered banking companies is 47 companies. This study used a purposive sampling technique. Of the total population of 47 banking companies, only 12 banking companies met the criteria. After that, multiplied by the research period, which is five years, then there are 60 samples in this study. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that institutional ownership had a negative and insignificant effect on financial performance, managerial ownership had a positive and significant effect on financial performance, independent commissioners had a positive and insignificant effect on financial performance, audit committee had a positive and significant effect on financial performance.
