Abstract
Indonesia as a developing country, currently still relies on imports of chemical industrial materials to meet the production process needs of domestic chemical companies. One of the chemicals that is widely used is amyl acetate. Amyl acetate is one of the acetate esters which has the chemical formula CH3COOC5H11. Amyl acetate is produced from the esterification process between amyl alcohol and acetic acid. In the chemical industry, amyl acetate is used as an intermediate or raw material. Amyl acetate is widely used as a solvent (solvent). An amyl acetate plant with a capacity of 60,000 tons/year is feasible to build, because the rate of return on investment is 36.79% and the break even point value is 30.88%.
