Abstract
The icon of an area has its own uniqueness that will make it easier for someone to recognize the origin of the area where the icon comes from. Ondel-ondel is one of the Intangible Cultures of the Betawi people which is believed to be a protector from generation to generation and is usually placed at the front of the Building.Ondel-ondel is believed to be a reinforcement repellent consisting of 2 (two) giant dolls that symbolize a man and a woman. Another icon that is also commonly used in tradisional Betawi buildings and houses is the ‘Gigi Balang’ on the lisplang. The presentation of the ondel-ondel and Gigi Balang icons can be applied in different form to alternative media of patchwork with quilting techniques into something different but still contains deep meaning. Data collection and discourse analysis in the process of the flow of thought are the basis of this writing. Keywords: Ondel-ondel, Gigi Balang, Betawi, Icons, Quilting
