Abstract
This study aims to analyze the development of the demand for red ginger in East Java, analyze the factors that influence the demand for red ginger, and recommend strategic steps in the development of red ginger production in East Java. Respondents in this study were employees of the East Java Provincial Agriculture Office, totaling 3 people. Research methods using Linear Trend Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, and Descriptive Analysis. The research results show that the results of the trend analysis produce the equation Y = 92,905,913.17 + 12,265,976.52X, correlated (+), which means that every year the demand increases. Partially, the price and population variables significantly influence the demand for red ginger in East Java Province. Alternative strategic steps in developing red ginger production in East Java, namely Empowering Red Ginger Farmers/Business Actors Strengthening market access for farmer institutions and business actors through improving supply chain management and developing business partnerships between the herbal industry and farmer institutions and champions of medicinal plants (ginger red); Development of Red Ginger Planting Areas; and Application of Good Medicinal Plant Cultivation.
