Abstract
Cavendish banana (Musa acuminata) is a type of banana that is in great demand because it has the advantage of soft and sweet fruit flesh, is larger in size. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of AB Mix and BAP and their interactions as a medium for Cavendish banana subculture. This research was conducted in April - June 2022 at the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur. The design used in this study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor was the concentration of AB Mix which consisted of 4 levels (MS; 1; 3 and 5 ml/l) and the second factor was the concentration of BAP which consisted of 4 levels (0; 1.5; 3 and 4.5 ppm). The results showed that the combination treatment AB Mix 5 ml/l + BAP 0 ppm was able to produce a greater number of roots, as well as longer roots and plantlets, the single treatment AB Mix 5 ml/l showed faster root emergence time, percentage plantlets live 100%, more number of leaves and roots. A single treatment of 3 ppm BAP resulted in a higher number of shoots and leaves. Keywords: Tissue culture, banana, AB Mix, BAP.
