Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a horticultural commodity that has good commercial prospects and value. At present the demand for lettuce also continues to increase. The increasingly narrow productive land certainly requires a way to maximize the use of limited land in order to remain productive to optimize both the quantity and quality of lettuce in its operations, one of which is hydroponic cultivation with the NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) system. The purpose of this study was to determine the real interaction between the types of growing media and the concentration of AB Mix on growth and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) hydroponically with the NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) system. This research was carried out in Watudandang Village, Prambon Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency in January to February 2020. This research was a factorial experiment with two factors compiled using a Split Plot Design consisting of the main plot of AB Mix (K) nutrient concentration. which consists of 3 levels and as sub-plot planting media (M) consisting of 3 levels of treatment. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), if there was a real influence followed by a 5% BNJ test. Obtained the best treatment combination of various types of husk charcoal growing media with a concentration of AB Mix 1200 ppm can increase the fresh weight of lettuce by 447.54% compared to rockwool planting media with a concentration of 600 ppm.
