Abstract
FOOD AVAILABILITY WITH FOOD BALANCE SHEET INDICATORS TO IMPROVE FOOD SECURITY IN TUBAN REGENCY Rany Rintan Nur Azizah, Nuriah Yuliati, dan Syarif Imam Hidayat Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur ABSTRACT The level of food consumption of the people of Tuban Regency (East Java) in general is still dominated by rice consumption which is dominated by rice, in fact the consumption of rice is still very high, exceeding the recommended value. It turned out that the consumption of other food substitutes for rice/rice was lower than recommended. Whereas carbohydrate food in Tuban Regency is also abundant. This study aims to determine the condition of food availability in Tuban Regency during the year (2016-2019) with Food Balance Sheet data, also to find out the perceptions of the employees of the Tuban Regency Agriculture and Food Security Service and what efforts and actions have been taken to meet food availability. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, secondary and primary data collection. The results showed that the availability of food with the indicators of the Food Balance Sheet in Tuban Regency in 2016-2019 was above the 2018 WNPG XI criteria and was included in the category of very food security with the perception of employees who were very good at understanding the concept and meaning of the Food Balance Sheet and had making efforts and actions to improve and maintain food security in terms of availability and other supports.
