Abstract

The study discusses the phenomenon of cyberbullying behavior through social media Instagram. Similar to direct twoway communication, a digital twoway communication can sometimes lead to conflict. This research is classified into research with qualitat ive method which in its approach uses a phenomenological approach. To obtain data related to this research, this research was carried out using a phenomenological framework, where the researcher focused on the experiences of teenager girls in Surabaya who had been a bully of cyberbullying. The results of interviews and supported by evidence from the informants' instagram accounts show the behavior of the informants. They took cyberbullying actions from instincts, encouragement, and incentives with various stimuli, experiences, and the influence of the social environment from the informants. The act of cyberbullying can occur other than because the adolescent phase which has emotions tends to be abstract, is also exacerbated by the presence of certain motiv es from informants, namely: revenge, interests (re: in the case that the researcher met focused on political interests), and the last one is selfexistence. There are several categories of cyberbullying carried out by informants: flaming, online harassment and masquearading.
