Abstract

Abstract—Foreign culture now spreading and has begun to erode the existence of the local culture that has become our identity. It is necessary to maintain local culture so that the existence of local culture can remain intact. Orang rimba are indigenous people who libe in Taman Nasional Bukit Duabelas (TNBD), now their condition being eroded by modernization, because the area where they live used for plantation. The general public, especially children, are unfamiliar about orang rimba. Providing education about culture is very important for children aged 9-11 years because it is in elementary school learning and in it there is a mission to introduce culture. Especially when providing education through picture storybooks, it will stimulate children's imagination. This study uses qualitative and quantitative methods for data collection, and literature studies to support design data. This study aims to know the customs of indigenous people in their daily Rimba's keep the forest as their residence, will result in a picture storybook with the theme of the jungle's custom, which contains the traditional culture of the jungle people that can be read by children aged 9-11 years.
