This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of health cadres, community members, and healthcare workers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model.
The results show that health cadres apply interpersonal communication by emphasizing openness, empathy, and simple language that is easily understood by the community. Their communication strategies include health education sessions, home visits, patient assistance, and the use of educational media. These efforts improve community knowledge, encourage participation in TB screening and treatment, and strengthen public trust in health cadres. Supporting factors include support from community health centers and good relationships between health cadres and the community, while the main obstacles are low health literacy, TB-related stigma, and limited community participation.
