      "abstract": "This study examines how a digital discourse of intellectual repression against LPDP (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan) scholarship awardees is constructed and negotiated on the YouTube channel Bocor Alus Politik (Tempo.co), in the episode \"Gaduh LPDP, Penerima Beasiswa Dilarang Mengkritik Pemerintah.\" The rise of state-funded scholarships as instruments of national investment has created tension between academic freedom and administrative loyalty, as awardees who criticize the government risk being framed as disloyal. This study aims to describe and analyze the digital discourse construction of intellectual repression toward LPDP awardees. Using a qualitative descriptive method grounded in Rodney H. Jones' Digital Discourse Analysis framework and Michel Foucault's theory of power and discipline, data were collected through documentation, non-participant observation, and literature study, then analyzed following Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the video functions as a counter-discourse dismantling the state's bureaucratic disciplinary mechanism through four discursive elements: text (visual framing on the thumbnail, the \"debt of gratitude\" narrative, and digital footprint tracing), context (the convergence of an alumni noncompliance case and the stigmatization of a critical resource person), action and interaction (a polarized comment section reflecting both support for academic autonomy and demands for compliance), and ideology and power (a clash between governmentality and academic freedom). The study concludes that constant digital surveillance produces an asymmetrical power relation that pushes awardees toward self-censorship, operating both vertically through institutional authority and horizontally through fellow citizens in the comment section. Nevertheless, YouTube continues to function as an alternative public sphere where this hegemony can be contested.
