Abstract
The topic in this discussion is about the Mpu Sindok Historical Museum Based on Symbolic Architecture. Museum is a place to accommodate historical objects or objects that have value. History museums are usually associated or established in the area from which the history was made. The history museum is the Mpu Sindok Museum. Mpu Sindok Museum is a symbolic architecture-based museum design located in Nganjuk. Nganjuk city was chosen because the existence or origin of Mpu Sindok is believed to be from Nganjuk city. As for symbolic architecture, it is an approach in design that can become a symbol or symbol in the design object later. Symbolic architecture can be said as an emphasis on design through something symbolic which is then expressed in a design. Symbolic architecture can be interpreted into two, namely disguised symbolic and metaphorical. The meaning of disguised symbolic design is a design that emphasizes functionality in its design object. While the meaning of symbolic metaphor is the emphasis on design through observing an object and then applying it to the designed object. The purpose of designing the Mpu Sindok History Museum is to explore its existence again and as a place for educational or recreational tourism for the general public. The existence of a history museum is usually associated with the history of the area. As for the display of the design object of the Mpu Sindok History Museum, it will be carried out using survey methods and interviews with the general public regarding the needs of the museum's facilities or functions. For the data collection technique itself, the Mpu Sindok History Museum is through observation and analysis and looking for accurate data sources on the object of the Museum building.
