Abstract
Red chili (Capsicum annum L.) is a vegetable plant that is used as a cooking ingredient with consumption levels increasing every year. Giving gibberellins in the vegetative phase can stimulate the growth of branches and stimulate leaf growth. Giving paclobutrazol can speed up flowering time and increase the number of flowers, but giving too much paclobutrazol can cause flower loss. This study aims to determine the effect of the frequency of administration of gibberellins and the concentration of paclobutrazol on the growth and yield of red chili plants and the interaction between the frequency of administration of gibberellins and the concentration of paclobutrazol on the growth and yield of red chili plants. This research was conducted in March 2020-August 2020 in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, UPN "Veteran" East Java. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) factorial with two factors, factor I frequency of gibberellin administration (G) which consisted of 4 levels G0 : No gibberellin hormone (Control), G1 : Once (10 Day After Transplantation (DAT)), G2 : Twice ( 10 and 30 DAT), G3 : Three times (10, 30, and 50 DAT). Factor II : The concentration of paclobutrazol (P) which consists of 4 levels. P0 : Without paclobutrazol (Control), P1 : 0,25 ml/L, P2 : 0,50 ml/L, P3 : 0,75 ml/L. The results showed that there was no interaction between the frequency of administration of gibberellins and the concentration of paclobutrazol on the growth and yield of red chili plants. The frequency of giving gibberellins three times had an effect on the fruit set of red chilies, the concentration of paclobutrazol 0,50 ml/L affected plant height.
