Abstract

Salt production made from sea water in Indonesia is mostly done by conventional methods, namely evaporation with the help of sunlight or better known as solar evaporation. The salt production process using solar evaporation causes the salt production to be completely dependent on the intensity of sunlight. This is certainly a problem for salt farmers, so we need a way to increase the concentration of salt content without being influenced by the season. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of seawater feed flow rate on the average evaporation rate of seawater using a spray evaporator, examine the effect of sprayer nozzle diameter on the average evaporation rate of seawater using a spray evaporator, and obtain an estimate of the average evaporation rate. mean seawater through multiple linear regression modeling for spray evaporator. The results showed that the seawater feed flow rate affects the average evaporation rate of seawater, where the greater the seawater feed flow rate, the greater the average seawater evaporation rate, the nozzle sprayer diameter affects the average seawater evaporation rate. where the smaller the diameter of the sprayer nozzle, the greater the average evaporation rate of seawater, and the multiple linear regression modeling obtained for the estimation of the average evaporation rate of seawater on the spray evaporator is Y^'= 15,6871+0,0038X_1-3,5327X_2
