Abstract
This study aims to determine how career motivation, economic motivation, understanding of accounting, constraints, and subjective norms affect student interest in a career as a professional accountant. The sample in this quantitative study amounted to 74 accounting students at the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur using purposive sampling method. The analysis stages include convergent validity, discriminant validity, reliability test, R-square, and hypothesis test. This research uses SmartPLS 3.0 software. This study has results covering motivation (career and economics) and constraints do not affect student interest in a career as a professional accountant. Meanwhile, the variables of understanding of accounting and subjective norms affect student interest in a career as a professional accountant.
