Abstract

Marmoyo river is located at Marmoyo district, Jombang regency. This river has long ±37 km and catchment area as much as 1.215 ha. Marmoyo river is one of the branch of Brantas River which the upstream is located in Jombang regency while the downstream in Surabaya. The areas around Marmoyo River are often flooded every rainy season comes. The flood occurred due to the dimensions of the river could not accommodate the existing discharge when the rainy season came. Therefore, it is necessary to take appropriate flood control measures on the Marmoyo River. This can be achieved by carrying out a series of analyzes, namely hydrological analysis, analysis of average rainfall, and analysis of planned rainfall which will later be used in calculating flood discharge and calculating cross-sectional capacity of the river. The hydraulics analysis was carried out with the help of the HEC-RAS 5.0.1 modeling program to obtain a flow profile on the Marmoyo River section which often floods. Based on the results of the analysis using a 25-year return period of flood discharge, it can be seen that the cross section of the Marmoyo River is not able to accommodate the existing flood discharge so that it overflows and causes flooding around the river flow. To overcome the flood problem, it is planned to raise the embankment along the Marmoyo River. With a flood discharge of 167.133 m3/sec, it is planned that the width of the embankment is 3 m and a guard height of 0,6 m is used and the total embankment height is 3,02 m.
