Abstract

This study focuses on mothers in introducing gender identity to children at an early age. Mothers play an important role in the growth and development of a child, such as raising children, introducing things around children, making friends with children, teaching values or norms to children, especially those related to gender. Every mother has her own model or style in educating her child's values and norms, especially values and norms related to gender. Descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. This research produces and processes descriptive data, such as interview transcripts and observations. Communication pattern is a pattern of relationship between two or more people in sending and receiving messages in an appropriate way so that the intended message can be understood. The communication pattern is identical to the communication process because the communication pattern is part of the communication process. The focus of the research that the researchers did was regarding the introduction of gender identity in early childhood. The results obtained in this study are the communication patterns used by mothers to children, namely primary and linear communication patterns.
