Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, health workers experienced difficulties in providing health services to the community along with the limited number of nurses, resulting in an increase in the workload on nurses. This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the value of mental workload, knowing the SWAT indicators that most influence the occurrence of mental workload, and providing suggestions for improvement in minimizing mental workload for nurses. This research was conducted in the Covid-19 isolation room at the Tarakan City Hospital in November 2021 until the data were met. Based on the results of the study, the value of mental workload on nurses for Covid-19 patients at the Tarakan City Hospital, namely there were 9 activities in the low category (17%), 27 activities in the medium category (50%), and 18 activities in the high category (33%). The dimension that most influences the mental workload value of nurses who treat COVID-19 patients at the Tarakan City Hospital is the Time dimension (60%). nurses work on shift III, because the percentage of workload in the high category in shift III is the largest when compared to shift I and shift II, and working conditions at night will require more focus because at night it is a normal condition for humans to work. rest and sleep.
