Abstract
PT. Pertamina EP Asset 4 Pertamina EP is a Pertamina subsidiary that oper-ates in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. In the process, they require a heat exchanger for preheating purposes. Because of impurities at-tached to the shell and tube walls, the heat exchanger cannot function opti-mally. The performance of the heat exchanger is sometimes hampered by dirt that sticks to the shell and tube, causing this industry to operate inefficiently. Therefore, the purpose of this calculation is to determine the efficiency of heat transfer during industrial processes. Heat efficiency is the ratio of heat trans-ferred from a high-temperature fluid to a lower-temperature fluid in a given unit of time, which may be used to determine a heat exchanger's performance. The results showed that the overall net coefficient (Uc) and the overall design average coefficient (Ud) were 88,2422 Btu/ft2.hr.oF and 51,7160 Btu/ft2.hr.oF. The impurity factor (Rd) is 21,2823 ft2.hroF/Btu. Keywords: Heat Exchanger, Fouling factor, shell and tube.
