Abstract

The increasingly fierce business competition has also resulted in the advancement of manufacturing companies in Indonesia, forcing business owners to seek ways to improve efficiency in all areas, including inventory control. If you look at the problems as above, this research focuses on controlling raw material inventory in companies that have many suppliers of raw materials. The purpose of this study was to control the supply of mindi wood and mahogany wood in furniture companies based on the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method using the Multi-Item Multi-Supplier design, resulting in an optimal total cost of raw material procurement. Planning the EOQ method in the company will be able to minimize the occurrence of raw material shortages, so that it will not interfere with the company's production process, and can save the company's inventory costs due to the efficiency of the raw material inventory. The results obtained after calculating the total cost of procuring raw materials using the method commonly used by thecompany obtained results of Rp 1.939.012.535,-, while the results obtained by calculating using the Economic Order Quantity Multi-Item Multi-Supplier Method were Rp 1.738.147.909. So from the calculation using this method, it shows the cost efficiency obtained is 10,35%. Keywords: Inventory control, inventory cost, EOQ, Multi Item Multi Supplier, cost efficiency.
