Abstract
Indonesia, with its vast waters, requires boat transportation facilities that are able to reach the islands, which number more than 17,500 islands. No wonder the need for the shipping industry continues to increase every year. As an archipelagic country, Indonesia should develop a national shipping industry. PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) is the largest shipbuilding company in Indonesia. PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) as one of the strategic industries that produces the main tools of the Indonesian defense system, especially for the marine dimension, its existence certainly has an important and strategic role in supporting the development of the national marine industry. PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) has business advantages in the capabilities of the construction and design of warships and commercial ships; Submarine Construction and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO); Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul of Warships, Commercial Ships, and maritime products; General Engineering for Energy and Electrification products; and Technology Development. Currently, PT PAL Indonesia is producing a Hospital Auxiliary Ship (BRS) ordered by the Indonesian Navy.
