Abstract
The film 27 Steps Of May by director Ravi L. Bharwani released in 2018, tells the story of the trauma experienced by an accident victim. Trauma is a very dangerous thing for human life. Trauma can arise when a person experiences violence, sexual, and threats that come individually. Trauma can happen to anyone and at any time. Healing of trauma is known as trauma coping. This study aims to analyze the forms of trauma coping shown in the film 27 Steps Of May. This research uses a qualitative descriptive study with Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. Researchers will analyze the data by referring to the sign's meaning through the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth. The results of this study represent how the trauma coping done by the main female character in the film faces the dark trauma she has experienced for eight years.
