Abstract
MILLENNIALS GENERATION TO DOCUMENTARY FILM SEXY KILLER BY DANDY LAKSONO This research focuses on the reception of millennial generation on the documentary film Sexy Killer. Sexy Killer is chosen as the subject in its research because it describes the other side behind coal mining and its impact until it becomes the main energy for electricity. This research uses quantitative research with analytical methods reception (reception analysis) Stuart Hall’s encoding–decoding model. This result shows various receptions of viewers o the contents of the Sexy Killer based on the various backgrounds. Each of the informants gives an answer based on their experiences and knowledge. It is found three informants is in dominant – hegemonic position, one informant is in negotiating, and one informant is in an oppositional position Keywords : reception analysis, millennial, Sexy Killer film
