Abstract
Insects carry an important role in agriculture as a pollinating agent, decomposer, and biological pest controller. The existence of insects in the agricultural environment is influenced by habitat manipulation by humans. Environmental engineering by planting refugia is one of the efforts to maintain environmental sustainability and sustainable production systems. The purpose of this study was to study the types, composition, and contribution of differences in insects found in Pamelo plantation with and without refugia. This study uses data collection methods by direct observation and installation of yellow trap, sweep net, Pitfall Trap, and Light Trap, then identification of insects up to the genus and calculation of the index value of diversity, evenness, wealth and species dominance. The observation results obtained a total insect population found in Pomelo plantation with refugia as many as 3,606 individuals consisting of 8 orders, 36 families, and 50 genera. Insects found on Pomelo plantation without refugia were 3,155 individuals from 8 orders, 33 families, and 38 genera. Refugia affect the number of pest populations and species diversity and the number of populations of natural enemies and pollinators. Refugia also affect the index value of species diversity and species richness of insects. Keywords: Refugia, Pomelo, Diversity, Insects
